Elijah Craig 18 Year Bourbon is an eighteen-year-old bourbon that was named in honor of master distiller Elijah Craig. This limited-edition bourbon was first released in 1994 and is still produced at the Heaven Hill Distillery. This bourbon is crafted from a mash bill of 78% corn,12% malted barley, and 10%. This splendid bourbon is rich and complex with prominent notes of strong leather, and oak mingled with spiced vanilla. On the palate, you’ll find undertones of mint, layered with chocolate. The finish is long and lingering with pleasant bursts of honey, toasted wood, and char.
History
Elijah Craig 18 Year Bourbon is part of a series of bourbons named after the reverend Elijah Craig. He was a well-renowned master distiller, baptist preacher, entrepreneur, and educator. In 1789, there was a fire that accidentally charred some barrels. This accident changed the whisky inside immensely improving its flavor. Right then and there, he knew he discovered something impressive and became “The father of bourbon” that we now know today. Over the years, he improved his barrel charring accident, into a more refined blend that we still enjoy 250 years later. The unique spirit is bottled solely from the contents of one barrel that have been aged for eighteen years and is a must for any bourbon connoisseur. It is bottled at the infamous Heaven hill distillery which is still family-owned by the Shapira Family today. Heaven hill distillery is located in Bardstown, Kentucky, and produces several great brands such as Henry McKenna, Larceny bourbon, Evan Williams, and Ritten House.
The Glencairn Whisky Glass set is an innovative whiskey glass that allows one to savor the taste and complexity of fine whiskey. Glencairn Crystal is the ideal glass for whiskey, it was designed by Raymond Davidson nearly 25 years earlier, however, its development involved gathering the master blenders from the five largest whiskey companies and asking them to help perfect his initial design. Even though the whiskey glass’s traditional style is a cut crystal Old Fashioned whiskey tumbler, it does not hold and focus the aromas as much for the experience of the drinker as the other styles, which curve inward towards the top of the glass. While not all drinkers may find the strong aroma produced by such glasses desirable, inward-curved glasses are often preferred by connoisseurs who consider the aroma especially important to the experience of a whiskey.
JM’s Dominican Churchill Maduro cigars are value-priced premium cigars which are manufactured by the JM Tobacco Company in Santiago, Dominican Republic. JM’s are handmade with prime Dominican Cuban-seed long filler tobaccos. These Cigars are hand rolled from well-aged Cuban seed tobacco leaves which are grown in the rich soils of the Dominican Republic and then wrapped carefully in a dark and oily Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper to create a bold, and hearty cigar. The honey-like sweetness and the natural sweet aroma of the Connecticut broadleaf binder make this cigar an enjoyably smooth and flavorful of earthy smoke.
